Fragmented Memoryscape - Final Submission for Graphic Design MA, Kingston University

Inspired by my core memory and with memories playing a significant role, Fragmented Memoryscape explores innovative methods of collecting, preserving, and narrating personal histories through interactive, alternative mediums beyond traditional data storage. It reflects the unreliability of human memory while conveying deeply personal stories through blurred yet intimate visual forms. It challenges viewers to engage with memory and personal history as both fragile and profound.

Fragmented Memoryscape consists of three layers: the vessel, the looping narrative, and the details assigned to each image or video. By default, the audience can interact with it using six keys: the arrow keys, plus and minus symbols. It is an audio-reactive piece that subtly responds to sound throughout. This project was created in TouchDesigner. The vessel is a 3D-scanned .ply object with a point cloud effect that is interchangeable. In this project, I particularly experimented with Polycam, which allows users to capture 3D models using LiDAR technology.

I hope Fragmented Memoryscape inspires people to appreciate and share their own personal histories, which are often overlooked.
